Season-Long Golf Competition App

The Pursuit is the season-long golf competition of Path2Scratch, founded by NFL quarterback Cooper Rush and his brother Dillon. Built in five weeks on Softr, Airtable and Stripe with Vibe Coding, the app gives nearly 100 golfers flight leaderboards, goals, rival challenges, badges and Premium tiers, and cut weekly results entry to two minutes.

Season-Long Golf Competition App project overview

The challenge

Path2Scratch runs The Pursuit, a season-long golf competition that keeps a community of nearly 100 golfers across the US chasing a lower handicap. As the community grew, running it had become extremely laborious and very manual: weekly results were exported from TheGrint and entered by hand, standings lived in Google Sheets, and golfers had very little they could see or do between events.

What we built

One mobile-first app for Path2Scratch's season-long competition: a personal dashboard for every golfer, flight standings and weekly event leaderboards, PathPlanner goals with head-to-head rival challenges, twelve milestone badges awarded from results, Free and Premium tiers on Stripe, a results importer that validates the weekly scores file, and automated emails and push notifications.

About the project

Path2Scratch is a golf community founded by brothers Cooper Rush, an NFL quarterback, and Dillon Rush. Its flagship is The Pursuit, a season-long competition of 27 weekly events that keeps nearly 100 golfers across the US chasing a lower handicap. As the community grew, running it had become extremely laborious and very manual: weekly results were exported from TheGrint and entered by hand, standings lived in Google Sheets, and golfers had very little to see or do between events. Base Flows moved the competition into Airtable and built a mobile-first app on Softr, installable on the phone, in five weeks and in time for the start of the 2026 season. Every golfer opens it to a personal dashboard with their handicap, flight rank, season points, the live event and their active goals. Standings run in three flights, Best 6, Best 12 and Best 18, and every weekly event has its own leaderboard scored on net score over par. PathPlanner turns the season into a personal plan. Golfers set Path, Performance and Community goals, from lowering their handicap to finishing on the podium, and their progress updates as results come in. They can also challenge another golfer head to head for a week or a month and keep a running record of every rivalry. Twelve milestone badges, from a first event to a single-digit handicap, are awarded from real results. Vibe Coding powers the custom screens: the dashboard, the leaderboards, trend charts that compare golfers' handicap progress, a golfer directory and a referral program with three reward tiers. Free and Premium tiers run on Stripe subscriptions, and an upgrade changes what a golfer can see in the app automatically, from full leaderboards to advanced stats and more goals. For the founders, a results importer checks the weekly scores file row by row before it updates every standing, turning hours of data entry into a two-minute process. Airtable automations and Softr Workflows keep points, ranks, goals, badges and rival challenges up to date, and send emails and push notifications for event results, completed goals and new challenges. Since launch, the founders have kept extending the platform on their own. "The platform feels like it was built by someone who gets us, who gets golf, and not just tech. It was really the best of both worlds." Dillon Rush, Co-founder, Path2Scratch
